Who to contact
For questions about RideShare or your personal data, contact the RideShare operator at chrislo.kaya@outlook.com.
Your account and profile
We use your email address, account identifier, first name, nationality and any profile photo you provide to run your account and traveler profile. Firebase manages email/password authentication. Brevo sends account confirmation and password recovery emails. A profile photo is uploaded only when you choose to provide one.
Travel plans and conversations
We store the plans, destinations, departure group membership, messages and reports you submit to provide coordination and safety features. Other travelers can see the profile and travel information you share with them. Legacy contact information is used where the corresponding feature remains available. Entered travel destinations are not a GPS location collected from your device.
Notifications and device information
Firebase Cloud Messaging uses an installation/device token to deliver updates about plans and conversations. Apple processes notifications through APNs on iOS. Notification permission can be changed in your device settings. Camera and photo permissions are used for the profile photo features you choose to use.
Analytics and diagnostics
In RideShare 1.4.0 and later on Android and iOS, feature activity is recorded automatically to produce aggregated statistics for partner cities and properties. QR acquisition uses a seven-day first-touch reference stored securely on your device. Partners cannot access traveler identities, contacts or messages. Analytics receives limited usage events and an app-instance identifier; chat messages and precise trip details are excluded from usage analytics. Earlier iOS versions may expose an optional usage analytics setting; updating to 1.4.0 aligns feature measurement with Android. Firebase Crashlytics and Performance also process crash reports, performance measurements and technical diagnostics for service reliability.
RideShare does not use an advertising identifier or track you across other companies’ apps for advertising, and does not sell your personal data.
Newsletter preferences
The RideShare newsletter setting controls news, product updates and travel inspiration sent using Brevo. You can switch it off in Profile or use the unsubscribe link in a newsletter. Account and password recovery emails remain available independently of the newsletter preference.
Newsletter exclusions and recorded newsletter refusals are preserved. You can change your newsletter preference independently of account emails and aggregated feature statistics.
Service providers and international processing
Google Firebase provides authentication, data storage, notifications, analytics and diagnostics. Brevo processes account and newsletter email delivery and delivery/exclusion information. These providers may process information outside your country. Their practices are described in Firebase privacy information and the Brevo privacy policy.
Retention, deletion and requests
Account and travel information is retained while needed to operate the corresponding features. Use Profile → Delete account to request deletion within the app. The service removes or anonymizes account-related information through its deletion process, including affected public profiles and content. Necessary abuse-prevention and email-suppression records may be retained to honor exclusions and prevent repeated abuse; provider logs and backups follow their own retention cycles.
You can ask to access, correct or delete your information by contacting chrislo.kaya@outlook.com. Include the account email so the request can be located; do not send your password. You can withdraw your newsletter choice in Profile without deleting the account. Device settings control notification, camera and photo permissions.
Website privacy
The public website has a separate website privacy policy. This page describes the mobile app.
