Scope
This policy covers the RideShare public website and its App Store availability notification form. It does not replace any privacy policy provided in the RideShare mobile app.
Information collected through the notification form
When you ask to be notified, the website collects your email address, your country and the countries where you want to use the app. The server also records technical data sent with the request, including an IP address and browser user-agent, to operate and protect the form.
Why we use this information
- To record your request for App Store availability notifications.
- To understand where interest in the app comes from at an aggregate level.
- To maintain the security and reliability of the notification service.
Storage and access
Notification form data is stored on the RideShare server and is accessible only to people administering RideShare who need it for the purposes above. It is not sold to third parties.
Anonymous website measurement
RideShare uses a first-party, HTTP-only cookie with a random browser identifier to measure anonymous website visits. The server stores only a one-way hash of that identifier, deduplicated by day, so it can count a browser once per day and once across a selected reporting period.
We also keep aggregate daily counts when visitors click the website's app calls to action, including Get the app, Google Play and the iOS availability notification. This measurement does not store an IP address, browser user-agent, email address, page URL or click payload.
Anonymous visitor hashes and aggregated click counts are retained for up to 13 months, then deleted. These statistics are used only to understand website reach and app-download interest; they are not used for advertising profiles or sold to third parties.
Your choices and requests
You can request access to, correction of or deletion of data you submitted through the website by contacting us. Include the email address used for the request so we can locate the record.
Third-party services
The public website serves its visual assets locally and does not load a third-party analytics tracker. If you choose to visit Google Play from the website, Google's own privacy practices apply to that destination.
